This was a fun and sweet historical romance!

The story begins with our main character, Avalon who is trapped in a marriage with Richard, a man whom her parents picked for her to marry and who is an absolute garbage person of a man. When he meets his demise, Avalon is free to raise their son on her own and doing what she pleases. But then Devan Farris is sent to keep an eye on her and her son. Not quite wanting to do just that, Devan reluctantly agrees to and tutor her son and perhaps do some digging on Avalon, or as he likes to call her, Ms Warlock. But the longer he’s their the more sparks fly and the harder it becomes for them to fight their feelings for each other.

Ah. Don’t mind me I’m just over here swooning. I loved this romance! Devan and Avalon were so perfect for each other! They start out as enemies and their banter is so. fun. Enemies to lovers is one of those tropes that I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of🤷‍♀️ Avalon and Devan each go through a pretty big growth as the story goes on and I was here for it, particularly Devans growth. Although the beginning was slow the pace really started to pick up and pull you in after a few chapters in. I found myself grinning like a fool by the end.
