The Seventh Sun was an enthralling start to a brand new series! I completely enjoyed it from start to finish.

Based on Aztec and Mayan culture, The Seventh Sun follows the story of Mayana, the daughter of a lord and Ahkin, the prince/soon to be king. Unable to be king until he marries, Ahkin holds a competition to determine his future bride. Mayana is amongst the other 6 noble daughters competing for his hand. But this is not a friendly competition. It’s a brutal trial that if you lose, you die.

I really loved the magical aspects of this! I am just a sucker for elemental based magic and loved the system that the author built for it. So unique! The world building was exciting and the plot held my attention throughout. The romance was delightful and I loved it. I will say this felt more like a New Adult book rather than Young Adult🤷‍♀️ overall, this book was full of fantasy, action, romance, and a world you will love to get lost in. I give it 5 out of 5 stars. I cant wait for the sequel!
